COVID-19 Safety Measures
The pandemic has impacted health-care service delivery in a variety of ways. At this time, I am no longer able to visit clients in their homes. I continue to offer in-person appointments in my Transcona location where I can maintain high standards of cleaning and physical distancing protocol to protect all clients. I also offer virtual appointments — this option allows families to access therapy from the comfort of their home (see Telepractice for more information).
COVID-19 safety measures for in-person appointments include:
- asking each family to self-screen for symptoms prior to the appointment and to cancel the appointment if showing any signs of illness
- limiting the number of people present at any appointment
- asking all parties to wash hands at the start of the appointment
- cleaning all shared surfaces, including the washroom, after each appointment
- maintaining a minimum of 6 feet of distance between clinician and client whenever possible
- using medical-grade PPE when distancing cannot be maintained
